The Tangled live-action movie is being put on pause.
Disney’s live-action reimagining of the 2010 animated film, based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale heroine Rapunzel, has been put on pause, according to studio insiders, via THR.
The project was in active development with The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey and scerenwriter Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.

And official reason has not yet been given, but the pause comes at the same time as the disappointing box office earnings for Disney’s latest live-action adaptation, Snow White. The movie is currently set to lose the company quite a bit of money amid controversy.
It’s unclear if Tangled will move forward at a later time, or undergo a creative overhaul.
Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, a remake of the 2002 animated film, arrives in theaters May 23. The live-action Moana is set to arrive July 10, 2026.
The news also comes as the company put a stop to a highly anticipated TV show based on a Disney princess.
